Of Hope From New Hope On The Last Frontier

Welcome
Home to Mike Rochin, Director of Emergency Services. Mike has
been in Florida for the past week attending a national ministry
convention.
New
Hope On The Last Frontier serves over 300 families per week with food,
clothing, emergency services, and Spiritual guidance. With an
average of 4 people per family, that is over 1200 people per week to
whom New Hope displays the Love and Care of Jesus.
The
food pantry and clothes closet is open:
Tuesday
- 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Thursday
- 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The
"Kid's Cache", which provides clothing for kids in
foster care is available to foster parents by contacting Mike
Rochin, Director of Emergency Services.
You can help New Hope provide these services with
your donations of cash, food, clothes, household items and office
supplies. Also if you would be available to volunteer, or know someone
who needs to perform community service, we would be most grateful for
this assitance. "...
According to Mike ... "We are in DESPERATE need of
canned goods." Please help with any type or size of donation
and thank you in advance for all that you do.

One Event - Multiple
And Diverse Responses
How many times have you been in a discussion after an
event, and there are many different perception or opinion of what
actually happened. Or do your discussions go something like "they
said this" ... "Well that's not what I heard".
The reason for this is because with each input or stimulus
we have, we Delete, Distort, and Generalize the information. The
external event comes in through our sensory input channels and it gets
filtered, or in other words we process the event. As we process the
event, we delete, distort, and generalize the information that comes
in.
Deletion occurs when we selectively pay attention to
certain aspects of our experience and not others. We then overlook or
omit others. A common statement concerning deletion is " I don't
remember them saying that".
Distortion occurs when we make shifts in our experience
by making misrepresentations of reality. This is what happens
when you are hiking, become alarmed when you see a bear, until you get
closer and see that it was actually a big tree stump. What we see is
often not reality, but our perception of reality because we distort.
Generalization is where we draw global conclusions based
on one or two experiences. This is where our behavior is affected based
upon experiences in the past.
So, the question is, when two people have the same stimulus, why don't
they have the same response? Because we Delete, Distort, and Generalize
the information from the outside.
This information taken from the Communications session
of our 12 week program.
